Another cold morning, and more waiting

It’ll be 10 more days before Gary can see the doctor for his COPD diagnosis. His quality of life goes downhill a bit more each day and I’m doing all I can to hold him up until he gets in for his appointment.

Oh, I tried to get him in sooner. Have any of you tried to get into a doctor lately only to find you’ll be waiting (sometimes) weeks? There are other places, like a health department, but in order to get meds and treatment we need to see our respective doctors.

It’s beyond frustrating, but getting upset about it only compounds the problem. I cook food that is good for him, I do most of the work, though I try to make sure he doesn’t do absolutely nothing – that isn’t good in a lot of ways. It’s a fine line between keeping up his strength and exacerbating the breathing problem.

It’s Sunday. Time to make coffee, read the paper and get some more work done. No, I mean my paying job. Sundays are busy around here for me as I put together the upcoming schedule and finish up court-type pieces. I do love my job, and I’m thankful for that.

So, have a good one. I’m learning that all I have to do is remember to smile throughout the day. It’s uplifting and makes me feel good. I wish that for all of you.
